As a Tumblr user, you've probably come across a variety of the coolest teen rooms, and you want one for yourself, but you're not quite sure where to start. Keep reading for a step-by-step guide on how to transform your room into a tumblr worthy hangout!

1. Clear your walls of any existing hanging pictures. You will need to replace these with other types of wall attire

2. Buy Christmas lights (fairy lights), Cotton lamp or other kinds of indoor-use string lights. Hang these all around your room- over your bed, lining your ceiling, whatever you think looks nice.

3. Print out lots of regular sized pictures. They can be things you saw on Tumblr, pictures of your friends, anything that you think describes you. Then, pick one or two empty walls, and fill these walls with pictures hung up with wall tack (also known as puddy.

4. Get lots of band posters or posters that you enjoy. What ever you like, just purchase lots and lots of posters (often magazines have a bunch of posters in them). Now use one or two walls to dedicate as your poster wall. Once again use wall track to hang these all neatly up. Don't mix your picture walls and poster walls unless you've neatly divided the wall- otherwise it just looks trashy.

5. Buy a cool bedspread. Recommended are tribal patterns like Aztec- just something hip and interesting. Use LOTS of pillows on your bed. If your bed is against the wall, pile all the pillows in the corner.

6. Obtain some Toms bags. Everyone on Tumblr LOVES toms- and every pair comes with a cute blue bag. Some stuff the bags and use them as pillows, others hang them on walls. A row of Toms bags looks great between rows of pictures.

7. Make handmade artwork. If you can paint and draw, do it! Use a wall to display all your artwork, or incorporate it with your picture wall. A VERY popular style of art on Tumblr are crayon melts. This is when you melt crayons onto a canvas. If you get a chance, look up a tutorial on how to do that.

8. Buy scrapbook paper. Recommended styles are sheet music, floral, or whatever you think looks nice. Cut out inspirational quotes from the scrapbook paper, and hang these quotes on your walls. They look nice on pretty much any wall, as long as it is neatly done and the location is well thought out.

9. Buy records. Most Tumblr rooms have a row of vinyl records on the wall somewhere. You can buy them very cheap at most antique stores. If you're willing to do it all, find a record player too. These can be found at most Goodwills and at Urban Outfitters
10. Fill up shelves. Many Tumblr rooms have a shelf filled with vintage cameras, picture frames, and other artsy objects.

11. Buy a dream catcher. 99% of Tumblr rooms have at least one dream catcher hanging on the wall or ceiling. These can be found at hippie or you can buy it at online shop which sell dream catcher.

12. Have different types of jars. Common on Tumblr are memory jars (used to write down memories throughout one year) wish jars (used to fill with wishes written down), and glitter jars (jars filled with glitter

13. Have a desk. Organize it neatly with art supplies and notebooks. If you have any jars, place these somewhere on the desk (with a small stack of paper next to it if it's a memory/wish jar.)

14. Add some wall art. Most Tumblr bedrooms have some inspiring quotes on their walls.
